Katamari Damacy
http://gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/918766.aspYay, it comes out today!
Basic idea: you're a little man. Roll on the ground. Things you roll over, stick to you. Become a huge ball!
Comments:
I was just at the store...
They didn't have it :(
Yeah
Just called Gamestop; they won't have any in 'till tomorrow morning. Though their website shows it as only $20, which is nice.
Rome: Total War comes out Wednesday at Gamestop. That's another good one. *sigh* So... many... games...
Heh.
I called it lame until I realized it actually looked pretty cool.
Hey!
That's not hard to say...
No kidding
I was at Fry's yesterday (looking at their X-Arcade cabinet) and I tried to ask if they had it in stock. The guy was like "Uh, OK, we can look it up in the computer but you're gonna have to spell it." It's not even proper Romajii (Japanese characters transliterated into the English alphabet) so I don't know how it's pronounced.
Great Game!
It is very original, and very fun. The scale moves smoothly. I thought it would be the desk level, then the city, then something bigger. But it moves so fluidly. You sometimes start around 10cm and have to go to over 10m. Obsticles later become stepping stones, and then later you can pick them up. So cool...
Agreed
And the music! I love the little tune that plays when you go talk to the big guy, with the heavy-synth vocals.
I get such a feeling of horrible, satisfying vengeance when I get big enough to roll up creatures and people that stepped on me early in the level. ^_^
Oh god, the music
All day at work, I was humming it. Then I ate lunch with Bryce, Sean and Jeff, and all I could think of was the little guy rolling up the french fries and ketchup packets.
Correct spelling
Matt, to answer our discussion on the odd spelling: the correct romajii is "Katamari Damashii". I have no idea why they made the switch; I consider the original much easier to pronounce phonetically than the release title.
Sold out!
