MoreCooler.com: It's more cooler with the thing

If you haven't seen it, Free iPods.com is a site that gives you a free iPod for signing up for one offer (most of which are free and can be easily cancelled at no charge) and for getting 5 friends to do the same. I've heard it said that they gave out just enough to get articles like the one you posted out there, then shut up like a clam, aiming to ride the publicitiy into profit then chapter 11 off the face of the earth. The math just doesn't add up, even given their claim that they make money from people who don't manage to get all five. I dunno, though, seen a lot of sites claiming it works.

I figure it took me about 10 minutes to do, so it's worth a shot. I've heard enough about them paying out to take the time.

I got halfway through the process before I discovered that they wanted an actual address - sorry, but no way. And even having aborted it halfway, I've already received 19 spams this morning alone to freeipods_at_mwoody.com.
