MoreCooler.com: It's more cooler with the thing

ok.. so my little critical update downloader thing is blinking at me.. click on it and it tells me it wants to install this update:

WTF? Anyway.. fired up charmap.. its got some random accented characters, several Chinese characters, a few weird symbols, a Jewish star of David and a swastika (sp) :)

I can see how that is critical. As in, "people are being critical of my font."

They got rid of the star of david as well.

My favorite font story ever was the old wingdings; apparently, if you typed NYC in all caps you got a skull, a star of david, and a thumbs up. I first saw the story in a tabloid in the supermarket under the title "program of hate". ^_^ I wonder if it still does it?

But Matt, if you're getting that blinking crit update thingy, that means you have autoupdate on, which is a no-no. Might wanna kill that service, 'cause it tattles to Microsoft on all sorts of things (they quietly removed the "this is done without sending any information to Microsoft" clause a while back).

figured I'd give it a shot on this install of windows.. its not set to install automatically, only download and then annoy the hell out of me until i reboot. :)
