Well that's all well and good, but how will the RIAA be able to sue any one individual person if they won't be able to track down the user behind the IP address?

One Simple Rule
If it can be put on a computer, then it *will* be copied. Anyone familiar with computers understands this simple fact.
People do buy things they download. "Gee, I had no idea this was a really good X" and they go out and buy it. Conversely, it saves people from saying "Gee, I paid Y dollars for this POS??!?"
So, it's a win-win really =).
